Transparency is a key concern for Mamoq. We expect it from our vendors and we are committed to being transparent ourselves. This includes being open about how we use our customers’ personal information.

The Site is brought to you by The Conscious Consumer Ltd (“Mamoq", “we”, "us”, or “our”). Our registered office is at Future Business Centre, King’s Hedges Road, Cambridge, CB4 2HY, UK. We are a company registered in England, with company number 10220336.  Please read this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) carefully as it contains important information about how we will use your personal data.

By accessing the Site you authorise us to collect, store, access, transfer and use your information as described in this Policy.  We may make changes to this Policy in future, which will be posted on this page.  You should check this page from time to time to ensure you are aware of any changes.  Where appropriate we may notify you of changes by email or through the Site.

You may not use the Site if you are under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you suspect we may have inadvertently collected any such information, please let us know straight away by writing to us at [[email protected]].

The Data Controller

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, the ‘data controller’ (i.e. the company who is responsible for, and controls the processing of, your personal data) is Mamoq.

1. Personal data we may collect about you

1.1              Data you supply (“Submitted Information”) includes:

1.1.1         Your name and address, and the name and addresses of any organisations purchasing products through the website (if different).

1.1.2         Your contact information such as email address and telephone number.

1.1.3         Your gender and date of birth

1.1.4         Billing or payment information (including billing address and credit/debit card information).

1.1.5         Information relating to your preferences and interests.

1.1.6         Your contact history with us.

1.1.7         We may also obtain sensitive personal data about you if you voluntarily supply it through our Site.  If you volunteer such information, you will be consenting to our processing it for the purpose explained to you when you supply it.

1.2              Data we collect includes:

1.2.1         We may monitor your use of the Site through the use of cookies and similar tracking technologies. For example, we may monitor how many times you visit, which pages you go to, traffic data, your IP and MAC address, a unique device identifier, the browsers and devices you use to access the Site and your internet service provider (“Analytics”).

1.2.2         Your purchase history and saved items.

2. How we use your personal data

2.1              We will use your personal data for the purposes described to you at the time your data was obtained, and for the following purposes, subject to the privacy and sharing settings you configure through your account preferences:

2.1.1         Submitted Information: As defined in section 1 we use your information in a number of different ways.

a) We use your name and contact details to: Identify you and open, run and monitor any accounts you hold with us; to process and fulfill your orders and enquiries; to monitor any material you contribute through the Site; to send you information via email or text about, including but not limited to, the Site, services, products, status of your order; to set up your profile on the Site; to prevent and detect fraud; to show you adverts as you browse the web, to find out what you and other customers like.

b) We use your date of birth to: Prevent and detect fraud, send you birthday promotions.

c) We use your gender information to: Direct you to relevant products.

d) We use your payment information to: Process payments and refunds; Prevent and detect fraud.

e) We use your contact history with us to: Train our staff; Provide customer service and support.

2.1.2         Analytics: to understand how, and how often, users make use of the Site, and to help us improve it.

a) We use your purchase history and saved items to: Make product recommendations; make sure you do not lose track of what you want to purchase; provide customer service, support and handle returns; find out what you and other customers like.

b) We use information about the device that you use to access the Site and how you use our website such as your IP address, browser and device type to: Improve the Site and user experience; set default options such as language and currency; protect the Site.

c) We use information from account that are linked to us such as Facebook and Twitter to: Enable you to log into the Site, provide product recommendations.

d) We use your responses to surveys, competitions and promotions to: Run the survey, competition or promotion and improve those.

e) We use your data to create targeted marketing campaigns on third party websites. We do this to keep you aware of what we are up to and to help you see and find our products.

2.1.3         Content Information: to set up your profile on the Site and make that profile available to other users.

2.2              We may associate any category of information with any other category of information and will treat the combined information as personal data in accordance with this policy for as long as it is combined.  We will only use information collected about you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and in accordance with the instructions of the data controller.

2.3              From time to time we also monitor and record your telephone calls to us (for example to our customer helpline) and online chat functionality for training purposes and to improve the service to you.

2.4              We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to advertisers (other than as expressly described in this Policy), but we may provide them with anonymous aggregate information about our users (for example, We may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in SW1). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers' wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.

3. Disclosure of your information

3.1             We do not sell any of your personal data to any third party. We believe that we must earn and maintain your trust, and that this is absolutely essential in order to do that.

3.2              However, we disclose your personal data in the following ways as an essential part of being able to provide our services to you:

Content Information, Analytics and Submitted Information

The Site collects information about the way you use them, such as by monitoring traffic data, your IP and MAC address, a unique device identifier, the browsers and devices you use to access the Site, your internet service provider, and the actions you take when using the Site. We only use this data to improve the Site.


3.3              We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006.

3.4              We may also disclose your personal information to third parties:

3.4.1         In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

3.4.2         If we or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets.

3.4.3         If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal or regulatory obligation or request.

3.4.4         In order to enforce or apply the terms of agreements between us, to investigate potential breaches, or to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

4. Where we store your personal data

4.1              The data we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or our suppliers. These staff may be engaged in the fulfilment of your orders, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

4.2              Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access certain parts of the Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

4.3              Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

4.4              Certain features of the Site enable social networking, messaging, publishing, chat room or forum features. Ensure when using these features that you do not submit any personal data that you do not want to be seen, collected or used by other users.

4.5             We only hold on to your information for as long as you are a customer. If you have not logged into your account for three years then we will delete your information from our systems. If you no longer want to be a customer, then please contact us and request to have your data deleted. If reasonably necessary or required to meet legal or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our Terms & Conditions, we may also keep hold of some of your information as required, even after you have closed your account or it is no longer needed to provide the services to you.

5. Your rights

5.1              You have the right to be informed about how your personal information is being used (see clause 2).
5.2              You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you.
5.3              You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you. If you believe we have information about you that you do not want us to have or that is incorrect please contact us as at [[email protected]] and we shall correct or remove the data as you request as soon as reasonably practicable.

5.7              You have the right to complain to your data protection regulator — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

6. External websites

6.1              If you follow a link from the Site to any third party websites or services, please note that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for the collection, storage or use of personal data by those third parties, and you should check the applicable privacy policies before you submit any personal data to those websites or use these services.

7. Our Vendors Privacy Policy

7.1              When you place an order we will forward your order details to the relevant vendor. So, please read your selected vendor's privacy policy before placing your order.

8. Cookies

8.1              A cookie is a text file placed onto your device when you access the Site. We use cookies and other online tracking devices to deliver, improve and monitor the Site, including in the following ways:

8.5              We work with third parties who may also set cookies on our website, for example Google Analytics, Google Adsense, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, which we use to display video content, enable social networking functionality and sharing, to deliver ads, and to monitor how visitors use the Site. 8.6.3         Google Chrome: Click the “Spanner” icon in the top right hand corner and choose “settings”. Click “Show Advance Settings”.  In the “Privacy” section click “Content Settings”. Select the appropriate setting in the “Cookies” section.

9. Advertisements & Ad Serving Technology

9.1              Please note that we use third party providers of adverts and the adverts’ content is provided by these third parties and not Mamoq. Examples of third party providers we may use from time to time are Flurry, AdMob, iAd and AdColony.

9.2              If you are using an iOS device, you can opt out of personalised adverts by visiting

9.3              Third party ad providers may use precise methods to collect information as a result of ad serving through the Site. These entities may collect and use data for this purpose including software, applications, hardware, browser information, Internet and on-line usage information. This data may be used and disclosed in accordance with these terms and the privacy policy of the company providing the ad serving technologies. You recognise and accept that the advertising companies who deliver ads for us may combine the information collected with other information they have independently collected from other services or products. These companies collect and use information under their own privacy policies. Although we take commercially reasonable steps to instruct such advertising companies to comply with these terms and conditions, we do not have access to or control of third party technologies.
